Title:
Approaching workforce shortages and increased imaging demand with innovative solutions: Philips
Description:
Radiology departments continue to be tested with an ongoing pandemic, and an increased demand for medical imaging. Additionally, approximately 47% of radiologists say they are suffering from burnout. So it’s not surprising to see growing workforce shortages in radiology due to increased workload and intensified delayed care for patients with cancer, heart disease and other conditions. Outside of the pressures resulting from COVID-19, experts had already begun to predict shortages would be exacerbated by other factors including an aging workforce approaching retirement and limited availability of training.
Effectively juggling shortages and increasing workload requires a new model of care delivery. In this session, facilitated by Niccolo Stefani, Philips Head of Clinical Strategy for Precision Diagnosis, we will explore different technological enablers needed to improve efficiency in radiology to reduce current and future challenges of the radiology care team and learn about the outcomes and key performance indicators (KPIs) decision-makers consider for workforce management improvement.
